There are pictures floating around the internet that claim to be pictures of BBQ. They're not.

As I was browsing the interwebs the other day, I came across something called "Brooklyn BBQ". With those three letters - BBQ - tagged on the end, naturally, it caught my attention. When I clicked on it, however, I was horrified at what I saw.

Stop right there. Let's give a little bit of background info.

You have to understand, I was raised on REAL BBQ. My dad was one of the guys that would do all his prep-work - trimming, seasoning, etc. - the day before a big cook, get up WAYYY before dawn the day of the cook, and hang out around the pit all day cooking. There was no dumping BBQ sauce on some rubbery beef, warming it in a skillet and saying, "Oh look! We cooked BBQ!"

No.

Back to present day. After being horrified by what was being referred to as BBQ, I decided that maybe there were people in the USA, perhaps even right here in East Texas, that don't know what real BBQ is. So, if you fall into this category, or are afraid of falling into this category, please scroll down, study, and don't compromise REAL BBQ for Brooklyn BBQ.
