Hurricane season is barely a month old and we have our first named storm in the Gulf of Mexico.

As of late Sunday morning, Tropical Storm Debbie is located about halfway between New Orleans and Tampa, with maximum sustained winds of 60mph.  Current forecasts show the storm to gradually strengthen over the next couple of days as it slowly meanders from its current position to a more gradual track to the northwest towards New Orleans and south-central Louisiana.

The forecast cone includes Deep East Texas as a possible area as to where the remnants of Debbie may travel, but its still to early to tell if the storm will keep this track and if we will get any rain late in the week or next weekend.
