Truck Fire Shuts Down Lane Of Highway 59

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a truck fire around 3:30 this morning has lead to the closure of the northbound outside land of Highway 59 at the intersection of FM 942 in Leggett.

No injuries were reported.  The trailer of the rig was loaded with pallets of aluminum trihydrate in bagged powder form which caught fire.  This chemical is non-hazardous but can irritate your eyes.

The northbound outside travel lane is expected to remain closed for most of the day.  You are encouraged to slow down and use caution when traveling through this area.
