Calls involving animal complaints are nothing new to the Lufkin Police Department.  However, a call early Tuesday morning proved to be a little different.

According to a release from the Lufkin Police Departenet, Cpl. Dale Dodd and Officer Sean Alexander responded to an animal complaint on Southwood Drive around 5 a.m. Tuesday. A woman called to report that a baby possum had made its way into her bathtub and was trapped.

Cpl. Dodd quickly escorted the little guy to a wooded area nearby, but not before he left a “present” in her bathtub.

This is the department’s first possum complaint to work this year, but officers removed possums from at least four homes in 2017.
