1927 - Guitarist Jim McReynolds is born in Carfax, Virginia. With his brother, he forms Jim & Jesse, a bluegrass duo that begins recording in 1951, joining the Grand Ole Opry in 1964. They gain a Congressional Medal of the Arts in the 1990s.
