Witten Suffers Lacerated Spleen, Could Miss First Regular Season Game
This is not what Dallas Cowboys fans wanted to hear.
Tight end Jason Witten is expected to sit out the rest of the preseason and could miss the regular season opener against the Giants. According to ESPN, the Cowboy's All-Pro player was injured after a reception in the Oakland game Monday night. Witten was able to return to the game, but an MRI revealed the seriousness of the injury.
Witten will be re-evaluated in about 8-10 days and a more specific timetable to his return may be available at that time.
