According to a press release from Woodland Heights Medical Center, special honors were recently awarded to some of their employees.  Jeanette George, BSN,RN, was named 2018 Employee of the Year.  Jamie Rice, Infection Control Director, was named Non-Clinical Director of the Year and Mark Hobbs, Surgical Services Director, was named Clinical Director of the Year.

“Healthcare requires a special blend of great people skills, tireless energy and the ability to work well under pressure,” says Kyle Swift Chief Executive Officer. “People who work in health care share the common desire to help others and make a difference in people’s lives. It’s a pleasure to recognize our employees for their dedication to our patients and to providing outstanding care.”

Employees are nominated for the Employee of the Year award by their hospital peers, patients and visitors based on their commitment to patient care, their professionalism, and their contributions on the job. Jeanette George has been with Woodland Heights Medical Center for 10 years and works as a Registered Nurse on the Medical/Telemetry Unit.  “Jeanette is a great asset to Woodland Heights and the Medical/Telemetry Unit,” states Debra Taylor, Chief Nursing Officer. “Her commitment and caring is undeniable and we are so proud to have her on the team.” Along with a monetary award, she will also receive an all-expense paid weekend for two in Nashville.

Jamie Rice, BSN,RN has been employed at Woodland Heights for a total of 10 years and has been the Director of Infection Control since 2016. Previously, she has held the positions of Clinical Nurse, Core Measure Abstractor, and Quality Coordinator. “I am honored to receive this award and I am grateful for the recognition I have received for my work,” states Jamie. “I love working for Woodland Heights Medical Center; everyone strives to make this a wonderful place for employees, patients, and visitors.”

Mark Hobbs, BSN,RN is the Surgical Services Director and has been employed at Woodland Heights since 1994, holding the director position for the past 5 years. Prior to becoming director he held the positions of staff nurse and OR Charge Nurse.  “Winning this award is such an honor,” states Hobbs.  “I am blessed to be able to work with such an outstanding group of nurses, physicians and staff.”
