In 1992, The Impossible Happened in Lufkin, Texas. The baddest bull in rodeo was ridden. Bubba Dunn from Louisiana rode Bodacious at the Bull Bash in Lufkin. Up until then, no other cowboy had a qualified ride on the 1800-pound beast.

Over the next few years, only a handful of other bull riders would stay on for 8 seconds. Dunn would do it again in Lufkin a few years later.

However, Pro Rodeo Contractor Sammy Andrews decided to retire this famed bull because Bodacious had become too dangerous to bull riders.

More than a generation has passed since Bodacious bucked in Lufkin. Through the years, there have been a lot of rank bulls on the arena floor at the Expo Center in Lufkin, but this year's 33rd Annual XTreme Bull Bash could feature the meanest bull tandem in the event's history.

Bayou Bengal

Bayou Bengal is the 2023 PRCA World Champion Bucking Bull.  He has made two trips to the Wrangler NFR and had (16) recorded outs this year and was only ridden one time, which was by Jeff Askey for 90 points in San Antonio. He had two outs back to back over the 4th of July run where he was marked 48 points

Having Bayou Bengal in the pen of bulls will be phenomenal, but to have a bull the caliber of Red Demon ready to buck is going to make highlight reels.

The XTreme Bull Bash is coming Saturday, March 2 to the George H. Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.  Click here for tickets and more details.
