Williford’s 88-Point Ride Wins Thursday’s Mutton Busting in Lufkin

It was another great night of big scores and speeding fleece at the mutton busting competition at the Angelina Benefit Rodeo. Following Wednesday's 89-point ride by Huntington's Cane Phillips, 3 mutton busters were able to score into the 80s on Thursday night at the George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center.

Lufkin's Thorp Williford topped all riders Wednesday with a score of 88 points, riding the sheep called Poom Baa. Just a point behind with a score of 87 on Ewe Betcha was Caroline Fleniken of Lufkin. Rounding out the top three was the first rider of the night, Marina 'Masha' Cherie of Burke, who rode Rambo for a score of 83 points.

More mutton busting excitement awaits on Friday and Saturday for the final two nights of the rodeo. Here are the scheduled mutton busters for each night.
