Help Veterans and the Homeless Saturday at the VFW in Lufkin, TX

Saturday, June 24, Blessing Bags for N.A.C. (Nacogdoches and Angelina Counties) will be hosting a fundraiser at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post located at 1800 Ford Chapel Road in Lufkin. The event will be held from noon - 4 p.m.

The goal of the benefit is to provide funds that Blessing Bags for N.A.C. will use for homeless veterans and those less fortunate in our communities. Specifically, the money will go towards summer essentials such as fans and other cooling products, plus food, as well.

It will be quite easy to help. Just show up and enjoy some lunch and live entertainment. Volunteers will be serving up BBQ plates, hamburgers, and hot dogs. There will also be a bake sale taking place. The Crimestoppers Band will also be playing at the event.

You can also purchase raffle tickets for an opportunity to win some great prizes such as a fishing trip to Crystal Beach, a 2-night stay at a Galveston hotel, a horse rental for 2, photoshoot packages, and shooting range packages.

The VFW Memorial Post is an outstanding facility, and yes, there's plenty of air conditioning to go around. So, you can enjoy the food and festivities in a cool environment.

Created in 2019, Blessing Bags for Nacogdoches and Angelina Counties encompasses a working partnership approach with other agencies to support at-risk individuals, families and the homeless. Their mission is to empower, transition, and restore hope through Jesus Christ.
