Carrie Underwood Chokes Back Tears Thanking Fans After Cry Pretty Tour Wraps
Carrie Underwood finished the Cry Pretty Tour 360 last week in Detroit and took to social media to show her gratitude. A new video finds the "Drinking Alone" singer fighting back tears as she thanks fans for selling out venues nationwide this year.
Underwood's stage show was as notable as her singing during each concert. The large, eye-shaped stage filled the entire arena floor allowing her to sing to all sides of each venue. Fifteen elevators operated independent of one another, allowing the 36-year-old to often look eye-to-eye with those in the second deck. Luminescent screens shifted depending on the song, serving as projection screens for background art, video and pre-recorded packages.

"It's truly been a special one for all of us and our band and crew and everybody behind the scenes has been absolutely amazing," Underwood says after thanking her fans. She starts to choke up during her short video speech before the video cuts to highlights of her many fall performances and a recorded version of the song "Cry Pretty," from the Cry Pretty album.
While Underwood's touring year is finished, she'll stay plenty busy this month. On Nov. 13 she'll host the 2019 CMA Awards with special guest hosts Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. She's also up for Entertainer of the Year at the awards show.
"Drinking Alone" is the fourth single from Cry Pretty.
