The Secret History of Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey"
Stapleton and Pink aren't strangers, having both headlined an intimate Grammy concert series this past February. They also both honored Dolly Parton at the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year event, where Pink performed a stripped-down version of "Jolene," while Stapleton performed "9 to 5."
Aside from her "Jolene" performance, Pink went country when she put a No. 1 single on the Country Airplay chart and Hot Country Songs chart — her collaboration with Kenny Chesney on "Setting the World on Fire" was a hit back in in 2016. The song reached platinum status in both the United States and Canada and marked Chesney's biggest first-week sale of a single with more than 93,000 copies sold.
Just this week, Pink tweeted in reply to Taste of Country about Reba McEntire's desire to collaborate with her — she would happily oblige!
