By the time you read this, the young woman you see in this picture will have called me, her dad, many different names...none of them good and all of them deserved.

Oh well, chalk it up to the hazards of being born into a family that lives in the media.

And, of course, a father who relishes these opportunities.

This is my oldest daughter in the post op room following her tonsillectomy. No make up, no fashion, no tonsils...I think she looks beautiful, but she would beg to differ. Anyway, according to the doctor, she has a painful road ahead of her before her wounds completely heal. And, as any parent will tell you, when your child suffers, the effect on you is exponential.

So, while we are anticipating the bad moments over the next several days, it was a welcome surprise when my wife informed me that the residual anesthesia had my daughter in quite a talkative mood.  In fact, can you say babbling? Her subject matter and ability to stay on point was reminiscent of the times she and her siblings have been exposed to laughing gas at the dentist.

Then again, maybe she's onto something.  Popsicles that double as lip gloss.  Maybe she'll make us millions. Of course, I'll be cut out of the profits now that this video is public.  By the way, the video is not that funny, or perhaps entertaining, but it brightened my day.
