An up-and-coming country star got a helping hand from one of country music's biggest acts in pulling off a beautiful proposal.

Austin Burke, an Arizona native and aspiring country star, scored a performance slot at 2019 Country Thunder in Florence, Ariz., on the festival's Main Stage on Saturday (April 13). Later that night, Dierks Bentley took the stage and brought Burke out for a special performance.

After singing a duet of Bentley's "Come a Little Closer," the spotlight turned to Burke as he invited girlfriend Lexy Kadey on to the stage and proceeded to get down on one knee. "Not only are you my best friend, but you're the love of my life," Burke said before popping the big question, to which Kadey replied "yes," according to AZCentral.com

Burke later turned to Instagram to share his thanks to Bentley and the festival for assisting in the special moment.

"@lexkadey, thank you for saying yes in my Home State in front of all of our family and friends. Thank you @dierksbentley for making this the ultimate proposal and for filming the whole thing!" Burke writes alongside a photo of him smiling while down on one knee as he holds up the ring to his overjoyed fiance. "@countrythunder, you made this a night we both will never forget!"

Burke was born and raised in Phoenix and moved to Nashville at 19 to pursue a career in country music. He released a self-titled debut EP in 2017 that includes his breakthrough song "Whole Lot in Love," which has since accumulated 45 million streams on Spotify. He signed with AWAL, a record label under the umbrella of Kbalt Music Group, in 2018. He also released tracks called "One Summer" and "Slower" — the latter of which is inspired by Kadey — in 2018.
