Don’t Be Alarmed if You See Elvis or Mona Lisa in Nacogdoches, TX
Celebrity Sightings in Nacogdoches
Saturday, February 4th, if you happen to be in the area of downtown Nacogdoches, don't be surprised if you see Van Gogh or Mona Lisa, or there could be a sighting of Cher, Madonna, Elvis, or maybe even a glimpse of the cast of Gilligan's Island.
So, what's going on in the Oldest Town in Texas that could possibly lead to visions of such an eclectic group?
Halloween in February?
The Inaugural Love The Arts Ball is coming to Mast Hall, on February 4th from 7-10 p.m. The event is being presented by the Nacogdoches Arts Collaborative, Visit Nacogdoches, and Alisa Steed.
It's a celebration of art lovers and artists from the Nacogdoches area and beyond. The evening will consist of food, music, dancing, and fun. Those attending the festive event are encouraged to dress as one of their favorite artists or artworks. This can be as wide-ranging as making yourself up to look like Mona Lisa or perhaps dressing up to look like the cast from the Brady Bunch. Painters, works of art, singers, actors...the list is pretty much boundless on who you choose to be.
Dress up as Lucille Ball...then you could be a Ball at the Ball.
Supporting a Great Cause
Love The Arts Ball is also a fundraiser designed to support arts-based programs and support a future community arts facility. There will be live auctions and online auctions of fine art created by local artists as well as items donated by area businesses. The online auction closes on February 4 at 10 p.m. Bidding will be managed with the ClickBid mobile bidding app, available for iPhone and Android mobile phone operating systems.
Tickets for the event are $40 each or two for $75.
Nacogdoches Arts Collaborative was founded as a 501c3 in 2019 to support arts activities in the Nacogdoches community and to elevate the arts and local artists. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of current tax regulations.
