The matriarch from A&E's Duck Dynasty is heading to East Texas this Saturday for a fundraiser in Jasper.

Champion Oaks Ranch is located on 75 acres northwest of Jasper.  As stated in its mission statement, the facility "was created by the grace of God to provide a loving, stable, Christian home for boys and girls who are falling through the cracks. We are partnering with the parents and other who have the same heart to help provide self-worth, purpose and life-long goals for these children.  Our number one goal is to restore and reunify families when possible, and our duty is to glorify God and share His love unconditionally."

The work that Champion Oaks Ranch is doing certainly caught the eye, or should I say the heart of Kay Robertson of Duck Dynasty.  In an interview with the Merrell in the Morning Show, Miss Kay explained that she really wasn't looking to travel to do any more fundraisers, but this Ranch and their good Christian work touched her heart and she felt compelled to be a part of their inaugural fundraising event.

The first ever Boots and BBQ fundraiser will be happening this Saturday, October 15th at the Jasper Rodeo Arena.  There will be BBQ, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and, of course, Kay Robertson sharing her stories and testimony.  Gates will open at 5 p.m. and she is scheduled to speak around 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at Boot Barn locations in Lufkin, Jasper, Beaumont, and Livingston.  General admission for kids 6 and under is free.

'Miss Kay' took time to visit the Merrell in the Morning Show on Tuesday...take a listen to our conversation.
