Over the past 24-36 hours, a mighty cold front has been slowly creeping across north and northeast Texas. This has brought major floods to parts of Dallas, Waxahachie, and areas south of Abilene.

The polar air will finally start pushing across East Texas over the next 12-24 hours. Folks in Tyler and Longview will start noticing the change about the time when they are in church on Sunday morning.

It looks like residents of Lufkin/Nacogdoches will get one more day of warm, humid temperatures, but colder air should start filtering in before the sun sets on Sunday.

Rain is also expected to accompany the frontal boundary, but we shouldn't get the major downpours that folks to the north of us received.

By the time we hit midnight Sunday night, temperatures will drop into the 40s and 50s and stay there for a couple of days. Northerly winds gusting over 20 mph will also push into East Texas by Monday morning.

Trick or Treating Forecast

It will be cold (40s and 50s), and perhaps breezy, but at least the rain will have moved on. Neighborhood yards may be a little soggy, so watch out for that.

A Layer of Frost?

By the time we get to Wednesday night, temperatures could drop all the way to the lower 30s. In fact, the official forecast from the National Weather Service calls for widespread frost across Deep East Texas late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Time Change

Oh yeah, don't forget that the Fall time change is next weekend. Before you head to bed on the night of Saturday, November 4, be sure to set your clocks back one hour.
