Big Names in Country, Comedy, and Gospel Coming to East Texas
Over the next several months, there are some great concerts coming to the Pineywoods. Let's take a look at those shows that are based in country music, or at the very least, have some country connections to them.
T. Graham Brown
T. Graham Brown is a legendary singer who will be performing at the Pines Theater in downtown Lufkin on Thursday, September 14.
He has released 15 studio albums and has amassed more than 35 chart-topping singles. Some of his biggest hits include “I Tell It Like It Used To Be,” “Hell and High Water,” “Wine Into Water”, and "Darlene".
Roots and Boots Tour
Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, and Sammy Kershaw are three of the biggest names in country music, and they will be bringing their Roots and Boots Tour to the Temple Theater on the campus of Angelina College on Sunday, October 1.
You'll get to hear them perform some of their biggest hits such as "She Don't Know She's Beautiful", "Love, Me", and "You've Got To Stand For Something".
Henro Cho
Henry Cho, a stand-up comedian, is notable for being one of the only Asian acts to appear regularly on the Grand Ole Opry, and he is now a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Cho is well-known as a "clean" comedian, forgoing profanity and objectionable material, and has sometimes been referred to as "Mr. Clean".
Cho will be performing at the Pines Theater in Lufkin on Friday, September 22.
Confederate Railroad
The 90's band that brought us hits such as "Queen of Memphis", "Trashy Women", and "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind", will be performing at the Steel Horse Saloon in Apple Springs on Saturday, August 5. Tickets are available at the venue on Highway 94 or at Cavenders in Lufkin.
Gabby Barrett
Multi-platinum star Gabby Barrett is coming back to Banita Creek Hall in Nacogdoches on Saturday, September 16. She'll be performing her huge hits such as "I Hope", "The Good Ones", and "Pick Me Up".
Randy Rogers
Red Dirt legend Randy Rogers will bring his acoustic show to Banita Creek Hall on Saturday, August 5.
Priscilla Block
Banita Creek Hall will be the place for Priscilla Block in concert on Saturday, October 21. Block had a huge hit with "Just About Over You", and her current duet with Justin Moore is quickly heading to the top of the charts.
Amy Grant
Experience the iconic sounds of Grammy Award-winning artist Amy Grant live in concert! This beloved Christian Gospel singer-songwriter has entertained audiences for decades with her timeless music and heartfelt lyrics. With hits like “Baby, Baby,” “El Shaddai,” “That’s What Love is For,” and “Angels.”
Amy will be performing at the Temple Theater on March 9, 2024.
