According to a report from the Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office, an Etoile man is behind bars after an ongoing investigation. Sheriff's deputies were notified by Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital that a child younger than 8 years of age had made an outcry to family members and was then taken to the hospital on Saturday, August 13th.

Detectives with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office were called to the scene and arranged for a forensic interview of the victim through Harold’s House that night. Investigators obtained enough probable cause for an arrest warrant for the suspect that was issued on Monday morning.

Investigators were unable to locate the suspect at his residence in Etoile on Monday afternoon to serve the warrant.   On Monday night, deputies with the Sheriff's Office started tracking the suspect on Facebook . Deputies were using an alias name on Facebook and were able to communicate with the suspect and locate his whereabouts in Crockett.  The suspect told deputies that he knew he was being accused of a crime and was going to flee to Dallas, Texas.

Crockett Police Department was notified of the suspect location at a family member’s residence in their city. Crockett Police were able to serve the warrant late Monday night without incident. The suspect, LeRoy Apodaca, Jr., 17, has been charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, a first degree felony.  Apodaca was transported to the Houston County Jail on the warrant. Apodaca will be transported this week to the Nacogdoches County Jail by NCSO deputies.
