On Thursday, August 25, the crew at Ferrara's Heating and Air Conditioning in Lufkin had a fundraiser benefitting the local Alzheimer's Association. Brannon Ferrara and some of his fellow employees spent hours grilling up some pork shoulders and then serving up pulled pork sandwiches during lunchtime on Thursday.

The lunch was free to anyone who drove by during our KICKS 105 Road Show at Ferrara's on Frank Street, but any donations dropped off were added to the total presented to the Alzheimer's Association.  The total amount raised through donations was then matched by Ferrara's.

Thanks to numerous generous customers & community members, $3,815.80 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Association!! Every year, Ferrara's Heating and AC participates in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's event in Lufkin to honor the memory of a very special lady, Mrs. Shirley Ferrara.

You can still get a team together for the upcoming walks in Lufkin and Nacogdoches, or you can walk as an individual.  The Walk to End Alzheimer's in Lufkin will be held at Ellen Trout Park on October 1, while the Nacogdoches event will take place on October 15 in Festival Park, just south of downtown.  Danny Merrell from KICKS 105 will be at both locations providing the music to get walkers pumped up and ready to go. There will also be a special ceremony held prior to the walks honoring those who are battling the disease.

The folks at Ferrara's Heating and Air Conditioning would like to thank everyone who helped us organize the event, including KICKS 105, Dean’s Meat Service, Scott Berger with Brookshire Brothers, and Hive Marketing.
