Today's answer is a dog. More specifically, a Chihuahua that somehow managed to get itself into a dangerous predicament in Sims Bayou near Houston Botanic Garden.

Somehow, this puny pup was perched on the pylon base of a bridge spanning Sims Bayou. How did it get there? Read on.

The Houston Fire Department's Rescue Team was dispatched to the distressed dog and a firefighter made his way to the vocal, frantic Chihuahua.

At one point, the Chihuahua snaps at the firefighter's hand...thankfully, he was wearing gloves.

When it became apparent to the dog that he was not going to be able to chase the firefighter away, the Chihuahua scored a 9.6 with an impressive dive into the bayou.

Although the water current was somewhat moderate, the rescuer was able to reach the dog within seconds and carried it to safety, even as the Chihuahua continued her vocal displeasure.

A follow-up report from KHOU gave more details about the situation. The dog's name is Burbie and she had been missing since Monday, November 25. The dog was reunited with her owners the day after being rescued.
