Russell Brand has two new reasons to celebrate his growing success in America, courtesy of two TV deals he’s got in the works.

FX will give the stand-up comedian and movie star his own half-hour unscripted late night talk show. Fox is also reportedly picking up an animated sitcom co-created by Brand.

FX describes Brand’s late night show as an “unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture.” It will hit the air sometime in the spring of 2012. Deadline.com reported that his animated sitcom may be loosely based around the raucous drug fueled party days of personal life in his 20s.

“I am so excited that I’m on the point of climax,” Brand said about his talk show. “In fact I will put the ‘o’ into FX, which spells Fox, which is actually the channel’s real name. That’s the only thing that worries me about all this to be honest. At least I’ll be able to have a Christmas drink with Bill O’Reilly.”

This isn’t Brand’s first attempt at a talk show. He hosted a self-titled BBC radio show in England starting in 2006 that drew hundreds of thousands of weekly viewers. He resigned from the show over a phone prank he concocted with former BBC talk show host Jonathan Ross on actor Andrew Sachs, best known for playing Manuel on the popular British sitcom ‘Fawlty Towers.’ The pair left a series of crude messages on Sachs’ answering machine about his granddaughter.
