Trick or Treat? Friday Night Football Could Bring a Mixed Bag For East Texas Teams
Two more weeks...that's it. The majority of football teams across Deep East Texas have only two more regular-season games to play, and there are tons of playoff implications that come with those games. Be sure to listen to KICKS 105 beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, we'll be bringing you the latest football scores on KICKS 105's Friday Night Frenzy, powered by RNR Tire Express.

Featured Games of the Week
We usually feature one game every week, but there are several great matchups, each with huge playoff implications.
Lufkin at Beaumont United: These two teams are tied for 3rd place in District 9-5A, Division I (along with Baytown Sterling). A win on the road for the Panthers puts Lufkin in the driver's seat to secure 3rd place in the district. Prediction: Lufkin 27, Beaumont United 21.
Mt. Pleasant at Nacogdoches: Both teams have the inside track to claim the final two playoff spots in District 9-5A, Division II, that is, unless Hallsville pulls off an upset or two in their final two games of the season. Whoever wins this game will likely be the 3rd place team in this district. Prediction: Mt. Pleasant 24, Nacogdoches 17.
Diboll at Crockett: It looks like Fairfield and Palestine Westwood will finish 1-2 in this district. That leaves Diboll, Crockett, and Teague battling for the final two playoff spots. If Diboll wins their two final games, they seem to be a lock for 3rd place. A loss to Crockett would set up a must-win situation for the Jacks next week against Teague. Prediction: Diboll 34, Crockett 31
Timpson at Garrison: The Battle of the Attoyac is one of the biggest rivalries in East Texas. This year's matchup also brings along some high-stakes playoff implications. San Augustine is a lock for the top spot in the district, but four other teams are in play for the final three playoff spots. Timpson has a more urgent need to win this game, but can they pull off the victory on Garrison's home field? Prediction: Garrison 34, Timpson 30
Joaquin at Shelbyville: Same district, same high-stakes game. Timpson, Garrison, Joaquin, and Shelbyville...one of those teams will not make the playoffs. If the season ended right now, both Joaquin and Shelbyville would make the playoffs, but we've still got two huge games to go. Prediction: Shelbyville 22, Joaquin 21
Jewett Leon at Corrigan-Camden: This showdown will likely decide the district champion. Both teams are 3-0 in league play, but Jewett Leon is ranked #10 in the state. I think the Bulldogs will give the Cougars all they can handle, but Jewett Leon's defense is stout. Prediction: Jewett Leon 27, Corrigan-Camden 16
