Fundraisers Set to Help Two Local Families Cover Funeral Costs

A tragic early morning car accident on January 1st took the lives of two wonderful and beautiful young adults, but their vibrant, infectious personalities live on.  Valerie Jasso and Jarred Pecina touched many lives during their short time here among us. 

Valerie was a senior at Diboll and on the Ladyjack Soccer Team.  Jarred went to school in Diboll and Lufkin and was an extremely talented member of their cheer squads, as well as the cheer teams at Blinn College and at the Academy of Gymnastics and Dance in Lufkin.

Now, their many friends, family, and even those who didn't know them are coming together to support them and their families in this time of need.  Go Fund Me pages have been set up for both Valerie and Jarred to help their families to cover funeral expenses.  Also, a huge benefit event will be taking place today (1/4) from Noon - 5 p.m. at the Academy of Gymnastics and Dance on Tulane Drive in Lufkin.  This event will include a bake sale, raffle, and will also act as a drop off point for anyone who just wants to contribute to this cause.
