Sunday, Polk, Tyler and Jasper counties got a taste of what the rest of the Pineywoods may see on Columbus Day.  Severe storms with heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds are in the forecast ahead of cool front making its way to East Texas.

In fact, tornadoes cannot be excluded from touching down in the area as a Tornado Watch is in effect until 11 Monday morning for Angelina, Nacogdoches, Polk, Houston, Trinity, Cherokee, Shelby, San Augustine, and Sabine counties.

The National Weather Service is expected rainfall totals of an inch or two throughout a large portion of Deep East Texas.  There may be higher amounts in isolated areas.  Northern Louisiana could see rainfall amounts closer to 4 inches.

The rest of the week looks great as we can expect clear skies with highs near 80 and lows in the 50s.
