Huntington, Texas Woman Arrested Following Chase in Stolen Truck

A Huntington woman who was been in and out of the Angelina County Jail no less than five times in the past four months will be heading back for a sixth and probably more extended stay.  This after being arrested following a multi-agency chase in an alleged stolen vehicle.

According to a report from Jessica Pebsworth, Communications Director with the City of Lufkin, Lindsay Bailey, 33, was taken into custody at 12:50 p.m. today (2/18) on State Highway 103 East, following a pursuit that began around 12:15 p.m. on North Timberland Drive in Lufkin.

The chase began after Bailey reportedly stole a blue, 2021 GMC AT4 pickup from a tire shop in the 900 block of North Timberland Drive. Witnesses told officers that she headed eastbound on Loop 287.

The pursuit then went from FM 842 to 103 east outbound. After traveling several farm-to-market roads off 103 east, Bailey cut through a cemetery and headed inbound toward Lufkin. The truck’s tires were spiked multiple times by different agencies throughout the 30-minute pursuit. With no tread left on any of the tires, Bailey lost control and crashed into a power pole across from a Dollar General on 103 east.  Bailey was not injured.

Bailey was taken into custody without incident following the crash.

The incident marks Bailey’s eighth Angelina County arrest including an arrest on January 22 for stealing a vehicle in Lufkin.  She was released on January 25. She has been booked into the Angelina County Jail several times in the past 4 months including on October 24, December 1, December 25, January 22, and on February 5.  She was most recently released on February 10.

Lufkin Police were aided by members of the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Pct. 1 Constable Tom Selman, and Pct. 3 Constable Chad Wilson.

This marks the second vehicle pursuit this week involving Lufkin Police.
