When we first heard about Athena, an instant question came to mind.

Would you let an 8 year old tattoo you?

So far, several Texans have said yes and she is on a roll now!

And why not? You've got to start somewhere!

Hailing out of San Antonio Texas, 8 year old Athena is working her way to becoming one of Texas' premier tattoo artists.

Spending her summers at her family's Nite Owl Tattoo Studio in San Antonio, Athena's natural curiosity became her passion. The first tattoo she ever did was that of an alien head on the ankle of her biggest mentor, tattoo artist, D.J. Ramirez. She was six years old.

Since then she has continued to hone her skills and works every day to make her love of art a permanent fixture in her life, and on our bodies.

In a full interview she gave for Kens5 on YouTube which you can watch below, you can see Athena's natural sweetness and her natural talent as more Texans get in line for her artwork.

" It makes me happy." Athena offers when asked about what she likes best about tattooing. She says it makes her feel proud to see her work even admitting that her first tattoo made her nervous.

Here is one of her latest designs, a happy chip, and we love it!

Athena says she likes to draw little designs but her dream is to tattoo a big flower with designs in it!

According to KENS5, there is no legal age to be a tattoo artist and, "having officially gotten the green light, the young girl has completed close to a dozen tattoos ever since."

Do you have a tattoo? Let us know on the station app if you do and if you'd let 8 year old Athena give you your next one! Or... your first one!
