Two Arrested in Texas Attempting New Kidnapping TikTok Trend
We’ve all heard of some irresponsible or dumb TikTok trends, but there is a new one that might be the worst ever that has hit Texas.
Not Sure This is a TikTok Trend or Not
I must admit that I don’t spend lots of time on TikTok learning about new trends, unless they become wildly popular. So, I cannot say if this is a real TikTok trend or if these two individuals just made the biggest mistake of their lives.
TikTok Trend Incident Leads to Arrests in Texas
According to an article written by KVUE, there are two individuals that were arrested last Wednesday around 3:20 p.m.
According to the Kyle Police Department the two men approached two children ages 7 and 9 who were walking home from Negley Elementary School and asked them if they wanted to be kidnapped.
As you can imagine, the kids were immediately scared and contacted their parents immediately, who then called the police.
The Men Told Police It Was a TikTok Trend
Police arrived quickly and made contact with the two men ages 18 and 19 when they told police they were imitating a prank they saw on TikTok.
The pair were arrested and charged with terroristic threat.
The Kyle Police Department said that the Hays ISD was notified about the incident.
Let this be a lesson to everyone, never imitate a dangerous trend you see on social media.
Remind your kids that if anyone approaches them about being kidnapped to tell an adult immediately.
Lastly, a huge thanks to law enforcement officers for acting quickly on this situation.
