Why Seniors Over 50 Are Being Targeted
The really sad part is that 60% of victims are over the age of 50. The FBI explains that scammers know to target wealthy areas in an attempt to steal more money. But scammers will also prey on the elderly as they don’t have as much cyber-security training and awareness as younger generations.
Remember these scammers are experts at their craft and trust is quickly used to manipulate victims. While law enforcement is doing everything possible to take down scammers and organizations attempting to scam people in Texas, it’s important we all stay aware of potential scams.
