Texas Woman Busted for Smuggling Meth Under Belly Flap
There are people that are caught in Texas every day using, manufacturing, or delivering drugs.
While it’s illegal there are people willing to gamble with their freedom for a chance to make some quick money, which is never a good idea.
As recently there was one woman who was stopped at the El Paso port of entry and was allegedly trying to smuggle methamphetamine under her belly flap.
Drugs Were Caught by Border Protection Officers
According to KXAN, Nancy Dominguez now faces charges of conspiracy to import a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in connection with her arrest that took place on Friday, February 7th.
The Couple Looked Suspicious to Officers
Dominguez was seen with a male later identified at Hector Ruben Rojas, but as the couple approached the pedestrian inspection building, they split up and went to different windows to apply for readmission to the United States.
Rojas seemed nervous in his interview and was noticed to be fidgeting with his thermos. He was asked what is in the thermos and he responded, “juice.”
After inspection officers noticed a bundle wrapped in black tape, a drug sniffing dog then reacted to the thermos indicating the presence of narcotics.
Dominguez Was Questioned More Thoroughly
While Rojas was stopped for the drugs in his thermos, Dominguez was free to enter the U.S. She remained in the building waiting for Rojas and was further questioned.
The drug sniffing dog was brought back in and alerted that Dominguez might be carrying drugs as well.
Two officers patted Dominguez down and noticed she was wearing a very tight girdle. A CBP supervisor was called in and found a clear plastic bag with methamphetamine under her stomach.
Both are now facing court dates on April 4th in a federal courtroom in El Paso.
