
Felony Arrests In Angelina County June 16th – 22nd
It has been a very busy week in law enforcement in Angelina County. There are still 22 people in the jail who were arrested between June 16th - June 22nd.

Two have made the local news numerous times for their crimes. They were also initially arrested, charged, and bailed out.

When more of their crimes came to light, they were rearrested. Murder, sexual abuse of a child, and drugs were the themes that stood out in this week's arrests.
Lufkin Man Charged With Murder After Victim Dies
Initially, we thought Julious Griffin, 26, might only be charged with aggravated assault with an unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, but it quickly turned into murder after his minor victim died. Early reports of the deceased being shot in the leg must have been downplayed.
We shortly found out he was air-lifted to a Houston area hospital. Griffin still might walk on the murder charge if his lawyers can prove self-defense in court.
He will likely have to await that trial in the Angelina County Jail now that his bail is at around $780K.

Zavalla Man Arrested Again After Second Victim Comes Forward
A second victim came forward in the case of Jamie Ryan Bright, 52. Zavalla police observed the forensic interview with the alleged victim at Harold's House, and that was enough evidence for them to arrest him again.

This time 6' 4" Bright has a $200K bond for a victim that he allegedly assaulted multiple times up until the age of 7 or 8.
