I spent the past weekend walking around the Fort Worth Stockyards. A nearby hotel just happened to be near attractions that I was interested in, so I stayed there, but I had no idea what I was in for.

Saturday night at the Fort Worth Stockyards was nuts. I saw a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and custom trucks everywhere. They were all cruising and blaring music, mostly banda, and showing off their loud exhausts.

That wasn't the part of the atmosphere halting runways in Paris. It was what the girls were wearing, and not wearing. Texas is setting the fashion world on its southern ear.

Wearing Cowboy Boots With Everything Is "Texani"

In Italy, they don't have 'cowboy boots'. They don't have any idea what a cowboy is really like or why they need boots.

Italians know that there is a specific type of footwear worn by people in Texas. At some point, they started calling cowboy boots "Texani" and it has stuck.

Almost every girl in Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth, no matter what they are wearing, shorts or dresses, pairs them with tall cowboy boots. It's got to be a type of wealth signaling, because a nice pair of boots like that will set you back at least as much as a pair of Golden Goose sneakers.
