Angelina County Victims Group Exposes Local Sexual Predators on Facebook

A local Facebook group, "Angelina County Victims Speak Out! Exposing Predators!" is gaining many online followers quickly. The group started last week and has already garnered almost 700 members.

They are using readily available online information to expose people in the Lufkin, Texas area who have been convicted of crimes of a sexual nature. Using the free website familywatchdog.us, they are currently focusing on publishing photos and maps of sex offenders who live near school zones, and the admins also post first-hand accounts of abuse on the page.

They are also going back to cases in the area that caused an uproar at the time, but may have been forgotten. Recently, they posted an article from KTRE in 2012 about Justin Delane Nash.

Lufkin Child Molester Got 14 Years Over 14 Years Ago

According to KTRE, Nash was found guilty of beating his roommate's 14-year-old daughter, convicted of causing bodily injury to a child, and given a five-year probation sentence.

Nash was arrested a second time for a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child after a teacher found a 7-year-old student's journal entry, "I wish I had another life. I just got raped by Justin and I am scared to tell my mom."

During the trial, the victim was 9 and had to take the stand.

Facebook Group Started To Bring Awareness To Former Sexual Predators

That victim's sister, Jayna, and mother, Dana, are admins of the Facebook group. It started as Jayna just telling her story on the site.

A child sex offender was living close to Trout Elementary. She saw that people were interested in the information that was being shared.

The more awareness there is the more that it would keep people from wanting to do these things.  Said Jayna Laney, Admin of  Angelina County Victims Speak Out! Exposing Predators!.  I just want people to be aware of the types of offenders in their area.
