This week the felony arrests in Angelina County from July 22 - 28, 2024 included 20 inmates. There are currently 256 inmates inside the Angelina County Jail in Texas.

Drug Possession Is the Highest Volume Crime In Angelina County

If the federal and state government were to legalize meth, Angelina County would cut their arrest numbers considerably. Almost half of the 20 inmates featured in the gallery below were arrested for possession, among their other crimes.

There were three arrests in these seven days for crimes of a sexual nature against children. That is a much more troubling statistic for our community.

The felons are in jail until they make bail. Once out, they wait for their day in court.

Angelina County Woman Gets 10 Years For Manslaughter

Kila Leann Janes, 28, of Diboll was arrested in 2019 for intoxicated manslaughter. She bonded out of jail and has now had her day in court over 5 years later.

According to KTRE Judge Robert K. Inselmann sentenced Janes to 10 years in jail for the death of her passenger, Clinton Earl Holman. When you get convicted of a crime you get rebooked into jail.

That is why she is listed among the felons in jail, even though her trial is over, and she is no longer a pretrial felon.
