This Appliance In Your Texas Home Could Cause A Fire
When buying bigger ticket items, I do my due diligence as I want them to last. I read reviews and find blogs and YouTube videos to learn what Texas customers are experiencing.
To say that I made a major mistake when purchasing my latest kitchen appliances is an understatement. It has been one thing after another with my microwave, oven, and refrigerator.
I purchased an entire Samsung appliance suite.
Every Major Appliance I Own From Samsung Has Had A Recall Or Major Failure
I should have done more research, but at this point, it seems that manufacturers of mid to low-priced appliances are all the same. If they last more than 5 years trouble-free you are lucky.
The refrigerator no longer makes ice. There are tons of videos on YouTube of customers saying the ice maker malfunctioned.
Large slabs of ice block the icemaker, and when it defrosts the owner can be left with ruined floors and more. There are videos boasting millions of views with stop-gap solutions to the issue.
The repairmen came twice and completely replaced the ice maker. It still doesn't work right, so I gave up.
The Samsung Microwave Is Actually Possessed
The microwave started having issues after a couple of years. The control pad malfunctioned and now it randomly displays the number 7 and turns on the fan.
I guess that means jackpot? I am just so lucky.
It still works, but right when you try to fall asleep, you hear a beep, and the exhaust fan in the kitchen starts. That is unnerving, to say the least, and possibly a hazard.
Major Fire Hazard And Recall For Samsung Range
I was thankful that at least the Samsung oven was fine. Then I noticed that the light in the oven doesn't always come on when I open the door, and a major recall just came out.
According to APnews, Samsung is recalling more than 1 million electric ranges. Many fire and injury reports pointed out issues with the big oversized knobs on the front.
I have experienced the reason for this recall firsthand. All it takes is a bump of the hip when you walk by to turn on the stovetop.

If you have small children or large pets running around the kitchen, I could see where this could be a major disaster. The fix? It's a set of knob covers.
