Most performances at the Pines Theater in Lufkin are somewhat sedate affairs, but not this one. I have a feeling that the son of legendary Latin Jazz Musician Tito Puente, Tito Jr. will have you in the aisles.

Not since Enrique Iglesias, has the son of a performer so fully stepped into his father's shoes in the Latin music scene. Tito Jr. has been rocking performances with his jazz band and blazing his own trail for more than a decade.

His father Tito Puente was the king of the Latin Mambo. He even played himself in the 1992 film The Mambo Kings starring Antonio Banderas.

Tito Puente Jr. Is Keeping His Father's Passion Alive And Well 

Tito Puente Jr. could be Ernest Anthony Puente III. His famous father was actually a Junior.

Tito Puente passed away in 2000 after a show in Puerto Rico on May 31, 2000. Since then Tito Purnte Jr. has performed and recorded many of his songs to honor his memory.

If you have heard the classic rock song by Santana "Oye como va" then you have heard music from Tito Puente. I hope that song will be on the setlist.

Though the show is just a few days away, there are still quite a few decent seats available to see the show at the beautiful Pines Theater in downtown Lufkin.  Tickets start at $40 and go up to $50.
