Miranda Lambert's Horses Won a Blue Ribbon at a State Fair

Miranda Lambert isn't the only prize-winning member of her family -- er, "farmily."

Earlier this month, the country superstar took a break from her whirlwind album release month to travel to the Oklahoma State Fair to show her horses. The singer shared a recap of the trip on social media, posting a round-up of photos of herself and her horses competing at the fair -- and even coming home with some No. 1 blue ribbon prizes.

"Horses are my happy place," Lambert wrote, adding that showing her horses is one of her "favorite things in the world."

In the photos, she poses with two Gypsy Vanner horses, shows off a pair of purple and silver fringed chaps and rides horseback in the ring. Lambert's a longtime fan of the Gypsy Vanner breed, a heavier body type of horse that, according to the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society, shares some common ancestry with the Clydesdale.

Lambert's prize-winning trip to the Oklahoma State Fair took place just days after she released her new album, Postcards From Texas, a gritty and traditional-leaning project inspired by her home state of Texas.

"What better way to celebrate Postcards from Texas than doing something COUNTRY and WESTERN," Lambert added. "...Blue Ribbon Club!"

Of course, Lambert is in the "Blue Ribbon Club" in more ways than one: She's also one of the most-decorated modern female acts in the country music genre.

Most recently, she brought home the Country Icon Award at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards, a ceremony that took place in Nashville last Thursday (Sept. 26.)
