One Person Dead After Fall From Rooftop of Baton Rouge, Louisiana Casino Construction Site

Terribly sad news out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana as one person died early Thursday morning at a downtown hotel construction site.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, a man was found dead at the construction site at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino.

Paramedics were called to the scene around 6:40 am but the coroner's office was later called in.

Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely said the man fell from the upper deck of a roof that was under construction.

The investigation into exactly what happened remains ongoing and police will release more information as it becomes available.

The Belle of Baton Rouge began a $35 million project to move on land back in 2022.

This is, unfortunately, the second sad incident to happen at the construction site. In February of this year, there was an incident where two people were injured after a cable snapped.
