Texas Lottery Verifies $560 Million Mega Millions Win Tuesday

Texas Lottery officials in Austin, Texas have verified that a single ticket sold for Tuesday's Mega Millions multi-state lottery drawing matched all the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize. The Mega Millions jackpot of $560 million was one of the top ten largest prizes ever given away by that game.

Mega Millions game officials confirmed that there had been no jackpot winner in the game since March 26th of this year. In that drawing the jackpot prize was $1.13 billion. In the March 26th drawing a single ticket sold in New Jersey matched all the numbers needed to claim that top prize.

Since then, Texas Lottery players have had some big wins but there has not been a jackpot winner sold in Texas. Although the Mega Millions game has produced 14 different jackpot winners throughout its history in Texas.  Here is how the numbers rolled out of the hopper last night, June 4, 2024.

Our source at the Texas Lottery confirmed there were five tickets sold in the Lone Star State that can lay claim to prizes of more than $10,000. Four tickets sold in the state earned that prize while another ticket earned the same prize but had the Megaplier in play so their winnings are "x3" or $30,000.

Where Was the $560 Million Mega Millions Winner Sold?

Our source at Mega Millions tells us the jackpot winner was sold in Illinois. The winner purchased the ticket online via the  Illinois Lottery website. The winner did not choose the annuity option so their actual prize from last night's win will be $264 million.

There were two Match 5 Million winners sold in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. Those instant millionaires are waking up this morning in California and Maryland. By rule, the jackpot for the next Mega Millions drawing will be $20 million. That drawing will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024.

What Is The Current Powerball Jackpot?
