Jacob Davis Drops Three Surprise New Tracks
Jacob Davis has released three new tracks to celebrate a run of very successful live shows recently. The rising country newcomer released live favorites “James Brown,” “Real Love” and “Got Me Like” to streaming services and digital retailers on Friday (July 21).
Davis just finished playing jam-packed gigs at No Vacancy in West Hollywood and the Back Corner in Nashville, and he wanted to add to the energy in his fan base with the surprise releases. All three of the new songs have been fan favorites at live shows since the Louisiana native introduced them while opening shows for Sam Hunt and Kelsea Ballerini.
Davis gives a peek inside his own “honest and confident love story" with the personal “Real Love,” which he co-wrote with Forest Glen Whitehead and Matt Jenkins. "My inspiration is my wife, but this a song that everybody can relate to," he says in a press release. "It's basically saying, 'We've got a good thing...and we know we do.'"

"Got Me Like" is a song he wrote with Whitehead and Jim Collins, and it's the fourth song co-written by Davis from his forthcoming album on Black River Entertainment. "We wrote 'Got Me Like' after picturing a guy walking down the street...grinning ear-to-ear because he was crazy about a girl," Davis recalls. "You can almost hear him singing the hook and walking with some swagger, hiding his excitement from her but on display for the world to see. I love its vibe -- just such a happy song, which is appropriate I guess as I'm such a happy guy."
Taste of Country chose Davis as one of our RISERS for 2017, and he shared an exclusive performance of his debut single, "What I Wanna Be," at the RISERS shoot, where he also participated in an exclusive interview and photo shoot. Check that out below.
Davis has just released a video for "What I Wanna Be," and he will open for Chase Rice on his Lions & Lambs Tour in the fall.
