Former Hudson Hornet Receives Invite to Georgia Basketball Event
Kanaan Holder, the current Angelina College and former Hudson Hornet product, was selected to participate in last weekend’s All-American JUCO Showcase in Atlanta, Georgia. The event serves as a spotlight for the Top 100 junior college basketball players in the nation.
Holder, who was injured during his sophomore season, proved a valuable asset for the Roadrunners throughout his freshman season back in 2022-2023, with his all-around game producing 8.7 points (second on the team), 5.2 rebounds (second on the team) and 2.42 assists per game (second on the team) while helping the Roadrunners to a berth in the Region XIX Conference Tournament. His efforts led to an All-Conference selection at the end of the season.
What would have been his sophomore season (2023-2024) ended before it began, with Holder suffering a pair of season-ending injuries. Despite opportunities to move on, Holder remained a Roadrunner as the team begins revving up for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
"This is a great accomplishment for Kanaan and Angelina College basketball," AC head coach J.J. Montgomery said. "We wish him the very best in Atlanta."
Holder is the son of Tammy and Tony Holder of Lufkin.
