KFC Will Coat Your Chicken in Pickle Sauce Starting Today
East Texas KFC restaurants are getting in on the pickle juice trend starting today.
If you've been dreaming about eating fried chicken in a pickle-juice-based sauce, today is your day.
KFC says customers have been asking for more pickles for their sandwiches for a long time, but they didn't just want to add more pickles to the orders. They've created a whole new pickle sauce that relies heavily on dill and vinegar flavors to give the chicken that's already got those 11 secret spices a little more zip.
Pickle juice is the main ingredient in this secret sauce, and we hear it's also got hints of garlic, onion, buttermilk, and pepper in it. KFC will coat the chicken in the tangy pickle sauce and offer it on several menu items starting today, including the Crispy Colonel Sandwich, Extra Crispy Tenders, Chicken Littles and Extra Crispy Chicken.
What are you thinking? It sounds like wet fried chicken that will taste like pickles. Kind of odd and totally amazing at the same time. And as we've mentioned before, pickle juice has turned into a thing, thanks to athletes drinking it for hydration and pregnant ladies sending their husbands out for some late night kosher dills at the grocery store. It was only a matter of time before we started combining pickle flavor with chicken. And then chase it with that new pickle slush from Sonic.
Our East Texas KFC locations are only getting enough ingredients to coat their chicken in pickle sauce for a few weeks, and the company says once it's gone it's gone. Then we'll be back to asking for more pickles on the side.
