Shania Twain Beams as She Watches Lady Antebellum Perform ‘Still the One’
It's not an every day thing sing a cover in front of the person who made the song famous in the first place. But Shania Twain was at Lady Antebellum's recent show in Toronto, so the trio took the opportunity to pay tribute to the legend with her tune "Still the One."
Fans might think Twain would be tired of hearing her songs over and over again, but that seem to be the case. The artist gazed wistfully at Lady A as they performed a stripped-down version of the hit, and she sang along to every word — as did the band's tourmate, Kelsea Ballerini, who watched from beside Twain.
The pop-country legend even seemed to get a little misty-eyed hearing the group’s signature style bring her song to life in a new way, including a particularly impressive mandolin solo.
Twain also chatted with the band backstage, with members Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott pointing out all the thematic parallels between their own music and Twain’s, essentially thanking her for her influence. Twain accepted the compliment graciously and cheered the trio on as they geared up to go onstage.

Twain is getting ready to release a new album for the first time in 15 years, titled Now, for which she just announced the full track list. It’s slated to drop Sept. 29, and she debuted its first single, “Life’s About to Get Good” at the Stagecoach Festival in April. It officially released to radio on June 15.
“Life’s about joy, life’s about pain, life’s about this, life’s about that,” she says of how the song came to life from a dark place. “Then all of a sudden: ‘Life’s about to get good.’ And I thought, ‘What a great play on words! How fun is that?”
Lady Antebellum just released their first album since both Scott and Kelley released solo projects, and they’re now on their You Look Good World Tour with Ballerini and Brett Young.
