Lady Antebellum Show Fans ‘What I’m Leaving For’ With Sweet Video of Their Kids
Lady Antebellum are showing fans the people they miss most while out on the road in a video for their new song "What I'm Leaving For."
The video is a photo album come to life as images and videos of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood's children and spouses appear on the screen. Many precious memories for each family are captured — Kelley and his son, Ward, at Disney World and dressed up as Toy Story characters for Halloween, photos of Kelley and Haywood posing with their newborns, and videos of Scott's twin daughters, Betsy and Emory, eating in their high chairs while eldest daughter Eisele helps feed them.
Fans also see a loving video of Eisele giving her mom a hug and kiss, in addition to a beautiful black and white photo of Haywood playing the piano with son Cash in between shots of the beloved band on the road.
"And it kills me that I gotta go / Couldn't do it if I didn't know / That every time I'm walking out that door / You know what I'm leaving for," they sing.
The video ends with Scott, Kelley and Haywood returning home, lovingly greeted by their families, who rush out the door to embrace them.
Written by Laura Veltz, Sam Ellis and Micah Premnath, "What I'm Leaving For" is featured on the trio's upcoming album Ocean.
"I wore out the demo for this song. I immediately related to it," Haywood reflects in a press release. "It’s so hard stepping away from your family the way we do, and that song is such a great, beautiful way of articulating what we’re out here doing this for – our families, and those that we love and the fans that love us, too. This song is a beautiful picture of that push and pull of our journey."
Ocean will be released on Nov. 15.
