Legendary Moe Bandy to Perform in Lufkin Thursday Evening
"Who was once, a bull-hookin' son of a gun..."
Upon hearing those words, any country music traditionalist should immediately be able to tell you the title of the song that goes with that opening lyric. In 1975, 'Bandy the Rodeo Clown', written by Lefty Frizzell and Whitey Shafer, launched the career of a former rodeo rider turned country singer.
Moe Bandy is that legendary singer, and he is coming to perform at the Pitser Garrison Civic Center Thursday, November 11. The show gets underway at 7 pm and is produced by Paragon Sound & Light in Lufkin. Tickets are available at Paragon which is located inside Sound Techs on South First Street in Lufkin, or they're available online at Eventbrite.
The accomplishments of Moe Bandy are impressive - 10 # 1 Hits, 40 Top Ten Hits, 66 Chart Hits, 5 Gold Albums, ACM Song of The Year, ACM most Promising Male Vocalist of the Year, American Video of the year, ACM and CMA Duet of the Year (with Joe Stampley).
Get ready to be entertained with two decades worth of hits, such as:
- Bandy, the Rodeo Clown
- Honky Tonk Amnesia
- Hank Williams, You Wrote My Life
- Cowboys Ain't Supposed to Cry
- It's a Cheating Situation
- Just Good 'Ol Boys
- I Cheated Me Right Out of You
- Someday Soon
- She's Not Really Cheatin', She's Just Gettin' Even

Bandy celebrated his 70th birthday earlier this year and the Mississippi native (although raised around San Antonio) still sounds fantastic. Listen to KICKS 105 for chances to win tickets to the show.
