Tonight, we get our first big taste of Lufkin Panther football for the upcoming Fall season.  The annual purple and white game takes place on John Outlaw Field at Abe Martin Stadium.  As big as football is in East Texas, tonight's game has a bigger meaning.

Tonight's Purple and White game has now been designated as the 'Lizzie Bowl' in honor of Lizzie Wallace.  She is a graduate of Lufkin High School and currently attending the University of Texas.  Lizzie has been battling cancer, but the courage, grace, integrity, and faith that she has shown in this fight has rallied a world-wide community around her.  She has taught us how to live.

The JV game tonight will start at 5 with the varsity to follow at 6.  All proceeds will go to the Lizzie Wallace family.  There are many other fundraisers that are happening over the next week and you can get more details about those here.

Support Lufkin football and Team Lizzie tonight!
