Lufkin, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Center, Natchitoches, Alexandria...these are a few of the cities that are right at the heart of what could be a severe weather outbreak on Wednesday.  

Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are possible throughout Wednesday morning and afternoon across the Deep East Texas area.  The best chance of severe weather across Angelina and Nacogdoches counties seems to be late Wednesday morning through mid-afternoon.  Rainfall totals should average between an inch or two.

  • 6:42 - A severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Polk county until 7:30 p.m. Livingston, Goodrich, Seven Oaks, and Leggett among other locations in the area should expect gusty winds and quarter sized hail.
  • 6:26 - A flash flood warning has been issued until 10 p.m. for northeastern Tyler and northern Jasper counties.
  • 6:24 - A flash flood warning has been issued until 9:30 p.m for southeastern Shelby, southeastern Angelina, eastern San Augustine, and Sabine counties.
  • 6:21 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 7:15 p.m. for Tyler and northern Jasper counties.
  • 6:12 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 7:15 for southeastern Shelby, northeastern San Augustine, and Sabine Counties.
  • 6:00 - traffic down to one lane in both directions near Buck Creek on Highway 69 between Lufkin and Huntington.
  • 5:58 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6:45 p.m for southeastern Nacogdoches, southern Shelby, central Angelina, and northwestern San Augustine counties.
  • 5:49 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6:45 p.m. for southeastern Nacogdoches, southern Angelina, southern San Augustine, and southwestern Sabine counties. 60 mph winds gusts and quarter sized hail can be expected with this cell.
  • 5:47 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6:30 p.m. for east central Trinity county and northeastern Polk county.  Corrigan and Moscow are in the path of this storm.
  • 5:43 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6:30 p.m. for southwestern Trinity and southwestern Houston counties.
  • 5:16 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6:15 p.m. for southeastern Shelby, northeastern San Augustine, and central Sabine counties. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail are possible with the storm cluster.
  • 5:13 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 5:45 p.m. for southwestern Houston County.  A severe storm northwest of Madisonville is moving east at 35 mph.  Persons around Lovelady should be on the lookout for gusty winds and hail.
  • 5:04 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 6 p.m. for Nacogdoches, southwestern Shelby, northwestern Angelina, southeastern Cherokee, and northwestern San Augustine counties. Wind gusts of 60 mph and half dollar sized hail possible in these areas.
  • 5:00 - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until midnight tonight for  Deep East Texas including Angelina, Nacogdoches, Tyler, Houston, Trinity, Shelby, Sabine, San Augustine, Polk, and Jasper counties.
  • 4:55 - A Severe Thunderstorm warning has been issued until 5:45 p.m for Houston and northeastern Trinity counties.  A cluster of severe storms near Kennard is moving east at 35 mph.  Quarter sized hail and wind gusts to 60 mph are possible within these storms.
  • 4:45 - A Flash Flood Warning has been issued until 7:45 p.m. for Angelina, Nacogdoches, southern Cherokee, western Shelby, and San Augustine counties.  Up to two inches of rain has fallen in a short period over some areas of the warned areas and more downpours are expected.
  • 4:35 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for northern Nacogdoches county and Shelby county until 5:30 p.m. A severe thunderstorm north of Nacogdoches is moving east at 40 mph.  This storm may produce wind gusts of up to 60 mph and half dollar sized hail.
  • 4:23 - A tornado warning has been issued for north central Shelby County until 5 p.m. At 4:23, a storm capable of producing a tornado was indicated on radar southwest of Carthage and moving east at 50 mph.  This storm will be near Joaquin around 4:55 p.m.
  • 4:18 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 5 p.m. for Houston County.  A thunderstorm capable of producing ping pong sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts was located near Buffalo and moving east at 55 mph. Crockett, Austonio, Lovelady, Latexo, and Weches should be wary of this storm.
  • 3:58 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 5 p.m. for northwestern Nacogdoches and Cherokee counties.  A large area of strong to severe storms is located from Henderson to Kilgore and is moving southeast at 25 mph.  Half dollar sized hail and wind gusts to 60 mph can be expected in cities such as Alto, Rusk, Cushing, Reklaw, Sacul, to name a few.
  • 2:14 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 2:45 p.m. for Sabine County, southeastern San Augustine County, and southeastern Shelby County.  This storm has a history of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail.  This storm is expected to impact towns such as Hemphill, Yellowpine, Macune, and Pineland.
  • 1:48 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 2:30 p.m. for Angelina, southeastern Nacogdoches, and southwestern San Augustine counties.  At 1:48, radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near Diboll.  This storm has a history of wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter sized hail.  The storm cell is moving northeast at 30 mph.  Areas impacted will include Lufkin, Huntington, Etoile, Broaddus, and Chireno.
  • 11:26 - A Flash Flood Warning has been issued until 5:30 p.m. for southeastern Jasper and southeastern Tyler counties.  3-5 inches of rain has fallen across the warned area this morning and another 2 inches is possible.  Travel across I-10 in southwestern Louisiana is discouraged due to 5-10 inches of rainfall and several reports of tornadic cells.
  • 8:42 - a Severe Thunderstorm warning is in effect until 9:15 a.m. for southeastern Nacogdoches, east-central Angelina, west-central Sabine, and San Augustine counties.  A severe thunderstorm located near Etoile is producing quarter sized hail. Hail can be expected is cities such as San Augustine, Chireno, Broaddus, and Bland Lake.
  • 8:33 - a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for southeastern Jasper and southeastern Tyler counties until 11:30 a.m.  2-3 inches of rain has already fallen across the warned area and more heavy downpours are expected throughout the morning.
  • 8:30 - A tornado warning has been issued for southeastern Jasper until 9:15 a.m.  Radar indicated a possible tornado near Buna moving northeast at 25 mph.
  • 8:05 - A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 9 a.m. for San Augustine county.  At 8:05, a severe thunderstorm was located just southeest of Broaddus.  The storm is moving northeast at 30 mph.  Wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter sized hail can be expected in locations such as Broaddus, San Augustine, and Macune.
  • 7:44 - A tornado warning has been issued until 8:30 a.m. for southeastern Jasper county.  At 7:44, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Silsbee and moving east at 25 mph.
  • A tornado watch has been issued until 5 p.m. for Angelina, Nacogdoches, Trinity, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Polk, Tyler, Jasper, and Newton counties.  Be prepared to take shelter if a warning is issued for your area.
  • 7:14 - A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 8 this morning for persons in southeastern Jasper and southeastern Tyler.  Wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter sized hail can be expected.
