A twentysomething computer thief learned a valuable lesson after the owner of the stolen laptop accessed the hard drive via remote.
That lesson? Never record yourself dancing awkwardly to hip hop music on a looted laptop before going through the basic steps of wiping it out. Especially if the owner of said laptop is a computer guru with access to the hard drive from an external location.
Owner Mark Bao, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, was so amused by the thief's ridiculous moves he posted the video onto YouTube in retribution. Hours later, the thief sent Bao a message begging him to remove the video and apologized profusely for "thinking he could get away with something like this."
The thief also turned the laptop into campus security and is now waiting to hear what kind of trouble he's landed himself in.
