Marketing/Communications Director Appointed at Lufkin Hospital
According to a press release from CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial, Tina Alexander-Sellers has been named the new leader of its system-wide Marketing and Communications department.
As Market Director of Marketing and Communications, Alexander-Sellers will work with the hospital administration across the three-hospital system to develop strategic marketing programs and partnerships that advance its mission, vision and goals of creating healthier communities.
Alexander-Sellers has worked for CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial for five years guiding its Community Outreach and Physician Relations team. During that time she has helped advance the hospital’s mission and core values by identifying and developing initiatives, programs and partnerships that improve access to the hospital, develop diverse leadership and increase community outreach throughout East Texas. Her duties also include that of facilitator for the hospital’s Sacred Vocation Program. Established in 2016, the program is designed to facilitate God’s sacred work of healing through a health care team dedicated to holistic care of the body, mind and spirit.
“Tina has been highly influential in our mission to help create healthier communities, working alongside staff and community partners for prevention, education, early detection, access to affordable care, cultivating new providers, promoting healthy living, expanding mental health services, and decreasing health disparities,” said Market CEO Monte Bostwick. “She has been serving as the interim Marketing Director for the past three months in an effort to stabilize and prepare the department for new leadership. After an extensive search and interviewing many worthy applicants, it became obvious to us that we already had in place the best candidate.”
Prior to her work at CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial, Alexander-Sellers was News Director at KTRE-TV (ABC network affiliate) where she successfully recruited and developed a diverse staff of reporters and news operations personnel that maintained a #1 viewership ranking in the marketplace.
“There is no place more meaningful to work than a hospital, and I am grateful for an opportunity to serve in this capacity,” said Alexander-Sellers. “This new position brings me back full circle to my career passion – marketing and communications. We have an awesome team, and I look forward to building our many community partnerships as we strive to provide the best patient care using the most advanced technology and equipment in the hands of some very gifted physicians and staff.”
Alexander-Sellers is a graduate of Lufkin High School, Stephen F. Austin State University and McCormick Tribune Fellows Program-Media Management Center, Northwestern University.
As a community volunteer, she serves on the Angelina County United Way Board and Budget Committee and is the campaign chair for CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial’s hospital campaign. She also serves on the Volunteer Services Council for Lufkin State Assisted Living Center which helps improve the quality of life for residents with intellectual and physical disabilities. In addition, she is a member of the Angelina County Health Alliance, Angelina County Active Living Council, City of Lufkin Steering Committee and president of Lufkin Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. with a mission that includes preparing young women for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century.
