Meet Lufkin’s Ryan Lewis – One Of The Best Racing Kids In The Country [VIDEO]

Ryan Lewis is a 9-year-old Lufkin native who is currently tearing things up on the racing circuit.

He races go-carts, but they're nothing like your run of the mill carts that you might have in your garage...the carts that Ryan races get up to 75 mph and they're powered with racing fuel.  Lewis, who has been racing since he was 6, already has racked up quite a few awards and trophies in his young career, and he hopes to accomplish much more in 2012 as his racing travels will take him to Florida, Indiana, the west coast, and hopefully Italy.

The video below is from a Las Vegas race that Ryan competed in (unfortunately he flipped his cart in a violent wreck - he was okay), the footage is from a different kid's car but it gives you an indication of just how fast these carts and youngsters are going.
